The Process

Dr. Atoosa Nikaeen’s goal is to ensure your entire experience is successful and pleasant from the start. At your first appointment, she’ll examine you or your child and discuss potential treatment options with you.

Dr. Nikaeen can provide you with more detailed information if you bring the following to your first consultation.

  • Available x-rays
  • A list of your present medications
  • Completed copies of relevant medical and dental insurance forms
  • Your complete medical history

If a thorough exam indicates orthodontic treatment is indicated, Dr. Nikaeen will schedule you for diagnostic photos and x-rays before creating a treatment plan tailored to your specific needs.

Treatment can begin immediately if you have recently had a cavity check and teeth cleaning. The length of time required to complete the process can range from six to 30 months, depending on:

  • Your age
  • Severity of your problem
  • Extent of movement possible
  • Your consistent cooperative effort
  • The type of braces
